@gagahusband Well, the song is about marrying the darkness in life. The producer went crazy towards the end, almost creating synths that resemble every struggle you've ever had rushing toward you at once. You can see how that would be tear jerking.

@winnylem Well, her old music shouldn't be derided. It was about sex and fame, but from a very critical perspective. Almost like commentary. I found it to be enlightening, especially The Fame Monster.

I love this song! I found it so odd to hear it on Puss in Boots, since I too liked it before it was cool.

If you didn't notice, this is a comedy bit. Gaga's Yuyi is being visited by doctors. That explains the wheelchair. It's not funny. For this reason, I see Bette's Mermaid and Gaga's as different entities. There is also the possibility that Lady Gaga's never even heard of this. Don't rule that out.

I don't agree. And also, 80's is a genre! Having an 80's sound isn't ripping off anybody. You're generalizing. It's very possible to have an 80's type song without being unoriginal. "Bad Kids" for instance.
