i forgot to mention that this is a scrap motherboard so i wouldn`t be able to test the chip after i reball it.

i wanted to tell you, when i lifted the RSX chip there was absolutely no solder on one of the pads on the motherboard, it was a pad on the outside. i guess when the...

i found out what it was, it was the RSX chip starting to come loose from the motherboard.

this is what i did, i left the bottom metal shielding attached to the motherboard but i left off the top metal shielding, connected power supply only, then i put pressure on the RSX chip using painters tape ...

i can see the board warping as you are heating it up.

it looks to me like you have a shorted out power button sensor circuit. it can also be a shorted diode. you need to set your digital meter on diode and test all diodes near the power button and on the motherboard. i have fixed this exact problems with the older model ps3`s, CECHA01, CECHE01, it o...
