On the other hand, the "black church" functions as a hub for black culture, communication and solidarity-- it was an important part of the Civil Rights movement. Isolated people are unable to organize.

@khalloud2008 Just becasue the universe runs itself doesn't mean it's "by accident." There certainly isn't any sign of an intellegence behind the actions of nature.

Religious conservatives/fundamenetalists are usually less intelligent than humanists, atheists and rationalists because they rely on dogma instead of thinking for themselves, but a spiritual/philosophical dimension in one's thinking is a sign of higher mental functioning.
