Dhrupad can not do justice with Sringar Ras. Present dhrupad genre is most boring thing. Look here----the poetry of bandish is in sringar rasa but the singer + pakhawaji are sounding like performing a Veer Rasa poetry. They should switch over to Khayal gayaki instead..........for the sake of Ras...

Shubho Maharaj is undoubtedly the best exponent of Banaras tradition at present. My compliments ! His baaj is pakhawaj-baaj so I would suggest him to play on a tabla of bigger muhar.....i.e. 6" or 7" muhar, occasionally if not always.

In Indian instrumental classical music is a tusscle between Gayaki and Tantrakari styles. Gayaki anga restrict the performers frm gimmickery and maintain the sanctity of Bandish/raga. Tantrakars are spoiling classical music by such commerciality, and it is easily acceptable by the ppl and the gov...

The serene melody of this song reminds me of songs of seventies in bollywood but a live mellow tabla and support of piano would have been better . Singing was indeed flawless !

Can you play classical Kaharwa because before learning Teen Taal one must know how to play Kaharwa exquisitely. Why Kaharwa should be at 1st place ? Because its notes (DhaGe NaTi NaGe DhinNa) serve as adhesives for all tabla phrases.Much more secret is hidden in Kaharwa.......not all know it.
