you don't have to touch the bag to stop it. You can meet with a punch or step around it. BTW, use handwraps and buy some decent gloves to hit the bag with or you'll hurt your wrist and knuckles. I suggest Ringside IMF tech.

I have pt. 1 & 2. There both great training tools. I use pt. 1 when i shadowbox and then use pt. 2 for the heavy bag(which I do on different days). This is perfect for me since I can't do much roadwork anymore since I get shin splints, stiff knees, and sore feet. Thanks coach for sharing the wealth!

on the jab, you will run into problems with a guy who has quicker hands especially if he feints you. Another tip is, don't square up. Use angles. I stop the job with my right hand hugged against my left shoulder. If you don't use angles, it's like trying to fight about 8 guys in there.

try not squaring up. A better trick is to block the jab in between you're shoulder and glove. This technique will not work if the opponent feints you, since you are not using any angles.
