If he sticks to what he knows, not when your lord and master strays from his chosen field, then he starts to look stupid. Can I ask why you chose to be anonymous!

This song was ad-libbed live at the original Afro-Spot later called Kakadu when a fight broke out while Fela's band was playing. In those days the breweries charged deposits for drink bottles. They were smashing bottles and this was Fela's response to those ingrates who didn't appreciate the music and would rather fight over some woman. You can google Bodederek for more info.

That is a myth. Obama is president of the US and he has not created any chaos. The chaos that is Nigeria comes from the citizens being gullible and naive that the people with the worst characteristics somehow emerge as leaders. We as Nigerians have accepted corruption as part of our identity although most Nigerians are honest, law abiding and God fearing. I pray that one day the bad apples who are in the minority, are taken out of the barrel.

Kelvin is an example of the millions of talented kids all over Africa (not just Sierra Leone) who have exceptional ability that could take Africa out of the rut. Unfortunately foreign aid is controlled and disbursed by the people who are least able to help these kids to develop their individual talents. The Sierra Leonian government has a duty to help set up institutions like Fourah Bay college that educated a generation of prominent Africans in the 1950's, 60's and 70's.

I learn't to play by ear and still envy those who learn the orthodox way. My love of the instrument was the only force. No money, no guitar, no encouragement from my family. Learn anyway you can, your fingers will remember the notes, if you play all the time.

This film shows how human beings can get de-sentisized to the taking of a human life, In the case of a miscarriage of justice, you cannot revive the executed. Beheadings and amputations are discussed so casually it makes me feel ashamed to be human, The man says his job would be easier if the victim would just hold still. I bet he would fight and struggle if he was to face an executioner waiting with one of his own swords to take off his head or one of his limbs. God does not approve of this!

My uncle Bob was playing alto sax on this track. I used to look out the window in my granddad's house in Lagos and watch from upstairs the view while I vibed to this tune blaring out of the radio. This sound brought Ginger Baker pronto to Lagos in the '70's to learn the afro beat rhythm from the master...

Don't ever let anyone pigeon hole you into a category, because what they are trying to do is put you in a box they think you fit. For some people it may be their way of trying to make sense of the world or their environment but watch them get pissed off when they can't find the box into which you fit!
