I was born in 1930 as a Great Depression and Dust Bowl Survivor.

In 1948 I had to be trained to be a Locomotive Engineer I spent 1 year on a Baldwin 2-6-2 and 1949 1 year on a Baldwin 4-8-4. 1948 I went to work for AT&SF and 1950 I started working at a Refinery Yard. I was an Locomotive Engineer on a EMD GP7 2655 1950-1958, EMD GP9 2945 1958-1969 and EMD GP35 1969-1974. If you watch "Santa Fe in Augusta" you'll see ATSF 2945 towads the end. (The music sucks).

(I miss the old Leslie Tyfon A-200 horns locomotives use to have, ATSF 2655 had it).

In 1974 I retired. My eye sight went bad due to a war injury in the Korean War, so I had to retire early.

1953 Uncle Sam pulled me away from the Railroad and sent me to Korea. 1954 I returned to AT&SF with a right foot missing from a toe popper.

The U.S. Army sent me to Camp Gorden, GA. before going to Korea.
