If the Luftwaffe had destroyed the RAF -which they outnumbered drastically- Germany would have taken Britain and changed the outcome of the war. And with the RAF doing most of their bombing at night...

They're using pneumatic inserts in the tubes, that's why the round is plooping out; the round stays, a small charge goes a few dozen meters. It's practice for laying the mortars. And 81mm mortars are a whole helluva lot louder.
