Robert Downey Jr: "Forgive Mel Gibson"

Robert Downey Jr, while accepting an award for career achievement, asked us to forgive Mel Gibson, and film critic Chris Stuckmann talks about this.

    MrChrispy777 MrChrispy777 commented:

Jesus was asked by the Apostle Peter, how many times is he required to forgive his brother. Jesus answered, "70 times 7." That's 490 times that we're told to forgive our brother. We're told to pray for our enemies, and do good to those who persecute and use us. BUT, it is everyone's right and dut...

Academy Awards Nominee Best Original Score 1982

    MrChrispy777 MrChrispy777 commented:

Kudos to you, fine person, for uploading this soundtrack. I've been looking for this for years, but couldn't find it. I would watch the movie at least once a year, for my annual dose of downer, but sometimes, you just want the music. One of my top ten favorite movies. A work of art, by director A...

Billy Joel - Summer, Highland Falls

I couldn't find the studio version of this beautiful song on Youtube, so I uploaded it.

    MrChrispy777 MrChrispy777 commented:

Good call. I want to hear the song as I heard it as a child. Every song on Youtube should be studio first, and then toss in a live one. This song is on my top ten list of perfect songs, which is identified as something that never gets old, no matter how many times you hear it, and is perfect in m...

    MrChrispy777 MrChrispy777 commented:

I was six years old when I first heard the Carpenters on the radio, in 1970. I've always liked them, but wouldn't admit it, for fear of being made fun of by the other boys. I'm grown up....now I can admit it. Now I don't care what anyone thinks. They're collaboration had great melody, harmony, an...

    MrChrispy777 MrChrispy777 commented:

This was Grace Kelly's favorite song, and when you know something about her life, you'll understand why. This song should not be sped up, as one of those commenting suggested. It is powerful and haunting, and oddly enough, is not a song I am able to whistle. You "feel" this song, you "live" this...

Rosie Had Everything Planned - Roger Hodgson 'Live' in Bournemouth (Oct 2007)

    MrChrispy777 MrChrispy777 commented:

It really annoys me that You Tube, one day, has this original studio version from "Indelibly Stamped," and then one day...POOF! Only covers and poorly recorded live versions.

    MrChrispy777 MrChrispy777 commented:

Written in the style of a swelling British anthem. Waters has a keen ability to make you feel his music, in the same vein as John Williams. The strong images portrayed in the movie "The Wall," bear this out. The latest and most comprehensive documentary on "Floyd," made it clear that in the later...

    MrChrispy777 MrChrispy777 commented:

I always knew it to be an old negro spiritual. Annie sang the song, but did not contribute the lyrics to the Dvorak music. I kept playing Renaissance in the house, just after getting married. My wife was a Gloria Estefan fan, and pooh-poohed Annie's singing, at first. She soon became amazed at ho...

CARLY SIMON: THE STUFF THAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF/I GOT IT BAD/YOU'RE THE LOVE OF MY LIFE

    MrChrispy777 MrChrispy777 commented:

This song makes me well-up with tears, not for what I have, but for what could've been. It takes two, as someone else commented, but if both make a vow at the alter and stick to that, anything can be accomplished. Love is not looking into each other's eyes, but looking outward, in the same direct...

    Gordon Lightfoot Beautiful

One of the best from the great Canadian singer songwriter Gordon Lightfoot. "Beautiful".

    MrChrispy777 MrChrispy777 commented:

I was 6 years old when I first heard Gordon"s "If You Could Read My Mind," and consider it a perfect song, just like "Beautiful." In the record store, back in the 90s, I was debating on paying more for "Gord's Gold," a compilation of his songs, or buying the cassette of his regular album that con...

Wonderful job, everyone. I watch covers of my favorite songs with a jaundiced eye, but enjoyed the whole production from start to finish. Dave, you deserve a wider audience for your talents. Billy Joel's "Nocturne"

    MrChrispy777 MrChrispy777 commented:

    Kansas - Lonely Wind

A song written by Steve Walsh

    Artist: Kansas

    Album: Kansas

    Year: 1974

    MrChrispy777 MrChrispy777 commented:

I think you're right. Kerry Livgren and Dave Hope were Christians before they started the group, and you'll notice in several songs, Christian themes are subtly injected. As they began to take a stronger stance, the group dissolved.
