I was raised a Jehovah's Witness since 1969 and was baptized in 1982 and left in 1997. During those years, I occasionally served as an Auxiliary and Regular Pioneer and Ministerial Servant. I never pursued trying to be an Elder because my doubts held me back. I am a firm believer that Salvation comes from Jesus Christ and not some Man-made organization. Jesus died for my sins, not the Jehovah's Witness. That being said, my obedience is to Christ and not the Watchtower Publications. The truth has set me free. I feel that most JW's are good people. It is many of their teachings I disagree with. Now, thanks to the internet and websites such as Youtube, many JW's are seeing this too.
