Owned an E21, it looked great but was actually a horrible car. Rust, high oil consumption, very bad seats and so on. The Opels of the 70s (Kadett C and Ascona B)were much better, much more reliable cars, much cheaper too.

For sure, will never own a BMW again.

My father had exactly the same car for 12 years. It was a solid, reliable car. He bought it because of the front-wheel-drive, which was rare back then.

Got an 91 BX Break, still going strong with nearly 250000 Miles. First clutch, original gearbox and engine and so on. You simply don't expect these lightly build cars to be that ultratough. A brilliant car.
