I don't know what this creature or facsimile of a creature is or is not. Likewise I am at a loss to know what is meant by the word "stortled". Maybe the creature was a stortle, a cross between a stork and a turtle. That is what it looks like to me.

Howard Keel did a much better job when he sang with a relaxed pop style voice, In operetta type singing, his voice seemed more forced. I think he was a brilliant performer, though. Seven Brides showcased his talents wonderfully.

I remember watching this on the CBS evening movie in 1968 when I was eight, and thinking, I can't wait to grow up and be like one of these guys and marrying one of those gorgeous and talented girls like Jane Powell or Julie Newmar. Still love to watch this movie.
