You have to remember that 85% of the subprime loans were pushed by PRIVATE lenders not fannie and freddie. There used to be regulations in place to prevent that, ayn rand deregulationists (including Allen Greenspan) have been undoing those regulations since the 80's.

Charity is not an adequate replacement for social justice, until the America Dream is restored nothing will change. Sure donation will pour in for these families but there are others across the country who will go to bed hungry. The only way to make widespread progress is to decrease joblessness....

If the minimum wage relative to median wage was the same today as it was in 1970, the min wage would be $17/hour. A $20/hr minimum wage is not unrealistic, we are just normalized to being paid like slaves. Working more hours, later into life, for less pay, and fewer benefits, and if you complain...
