A simply elegant recording!!!

This recording is a wonderful assembly of master musicians just enjoying themselves with nothing to prove. A rarity in today's chops oriented approach to music. I learned so much about accompanying a soloist from Bucky on this record.

Roland has a number of his recordings available on his website, unfortunately not this one.

Michael and his trio are always a humbling experience! WOW!

These guys were three of the most distinct voices in soul music. A great era when these guys and Harold Melvin and he Bluenotes ruled the airwaves. I completely forgot the O'Jays recorded this song.

These guys got bad rap from critics which I feel is unjustified. They wrote some good songs and the singer had a great soulful voice.

Harvey Mason never toured w/Herbie. He was making too much money playing on every record released in those days. Mike Clark is a monster drummer and musician.

Every artist has a "mistake" in his rep and this is JB's. Muzak is muzak and this is muzak.

Few drummers can really draw me into a solo, Gadd, Mike Clarkare 2 that come to mind. Add Hilary to the list. I am so pissed I missed her w/Tribal Tech.

Just saw Scott play this with Mike Clark and Jeff Berlin in a Trio setting. Mike Clark rules and created this groove w/Herbie Hancock.

@ PamperedTongue I'd recommend "Nomad" from their earlier efforts and most definitely "Tribal Tech" from 1991. "Illicit" is also a great one.

All viewers owe to themselves to buy this guy's recordings they are magnificent.

Finally located a great clean copy on vinyl and had it transferred to CD for safe keeping. Great record with Dr. John, Scofield, Dejohnette, and Purdie, who I believe played on this cut.

Love Moranis sporting Merv's fat-ass and Opey too. LOL

Does anyone have the Schmenge routine w/Moranis singing a Doors medley ala Schmenge. Absolutely hysterical!!

Orleans never got their due. Great writers, singers and players. Love this tune!!! Wish every Congressman was this damn funky!!!

While from a collectors standpoint the Gibson may be preferable, in 1981 when I played both the 335 and SA2000 @ Sam Ash , the Yamaha was the hands down winner and remains my favorite axe w/a few mods(tuners/pick-ups).

My SA-2000 has been modified to include Schaller tuners, Seymour Duncan -JB(bridge) and Jazz(neck), and Tone Pro Bridge and tailpiece. Everyone who plays it, loves this guitar. Yamaha's newer edition employs Dimarzio's and similar perks to my "custom" edition.

A real treasure as this song truly represents Kenny as he often appeared "live" - a man and his guitar!!

Love the fact THE BEATLES have to tune their own guitars and turn on their amps!

Saw this smokin' band a few years back @ The MA University of Liberal Arts with 3 of the all time worse warm-up acts I have ever heard and an audience that didn't have clue about Jon or his music. Love Jon, his band and his music.
