My name is Adam Noyes, and despite the title of my account, I hate Avatar, but love Avatar: The Last Airbender. I am very picky when it comes to viewing films, and it will show in my reviews. I believe that the Golden Age of cinema is over, and it lasted from the 1930s to the early 70s. It is very hard for a film to be put on one of my favorites list. Though I can really not say what is my top 10 favorite films, my all-time favorite film is a tie between King Kong 1933, and King Kong 2005.
I am a director, and you can view my page "chopperpilot5" and view some of my films, but I will say I am not an action director. To be honest, I think people like Michael Bay are destroying cinema. He is making us dumb by making films that rely mainly on explosions. I WANT A STORY! Watch films by Masaki Kobayashi, Sidney Lument, and Orson Welles, and you'll get an Adam Noyes film.
Action films I do like, but I just want a story. Explosions are cool, but they can get boring. I also hate shaky cam. If you are going to take time to set up a shot, make the camera moves make something of the shot, not just pointless movement. Keep the camera steady!
Though many of my ways may seem to be... backwards, I am a fan of CGI. The films like King Kong really take the CGI to a new limit, but at the same time, if over used, it sucks. Making muzzle flashes when not needed is stupid and even shooting a film in front of an unnecessary green screen makes me upset.
