The idea of punishing you is no joke. I believe this is a serious part of the way such music is selected. If they can deter you from holding on to complain, they can make whatever the problem is go away without a fight.

The next episodes are the Christmas specials between series 8 and 9, My Brother and I, and The Love of Three Oranges.

This is one of the finest episodes ever, Frazer is magnificent, and Mainwaring line about bureaucrats was very powerful and quite rightly didn't need a laugh.

I am not too sad about the ending as the war must be nearly over by series 8, so the cottage will soon be back to how it was.

Hodges and water never seem to mix!
