About Me:

People always ask me why I came out of "Show Business" and if I am still singing and performing. I am going to answer that question and share with you from my heart how it all happened.

I gave my life to the Lord about 2 months before "Starlight Express" closed on Broadway and needless to say, it changed my life.

A few days after Starlight Express closed I was asked by a friend of mine, director and choreographer George Faison, to sing in a show featuring myself, Lillias White, Adriane Lenox, and a few others. It was great working with all of them and I had worked with George before. During rehearsals and the actual performance, I felt out of place and uncomfortable, not because of anything or anyone in the show, but I did not understand why I was feeling that way and just talked to the Lord about it in prayer. After that show I was asked by composer and writer, Jeff Langley, to sing at Carnegie Hall for a special performance. The show was with some of the biggest stars and I felt confident and excited about singing and performing with them. We rehearsed at Leonard Bernsteins apartment in the famous Dakota on 72nd street in Manhattan. I was acting like it was normal for me to be in Mr. Bernsteins apartment but inside I was thrilled. I did the show at Carnegie Hall and this time I felt even more uncomfortable and asked the Lord about how I was feeling. After much prayer and seeking the Lord I felt certain that God was taking me in another direction, not that God asked me to stop singing.......no........just in a different direction than I was going. I did not understand it all but wanted to obey God even though many people didn't understand and thought I was crazy. I came out of Show Business after Carnegie Hall, about 2 months after "Starlight Express" closed on Broadway. I have had several, tempting opportunities to go back on Broadway but I know in my heart that the Lord has me exactly where I should be. I am not saying that there is anything wrong with being in Show Business or that God takes everyone out of Show Business.....no.....He is a personal Savior and that is what He wanted for "Me." To this day, many people don't understand why I gave up a successful career in show business and that's ok. What I gave up does not even compare to knowing and having a relationship with Jesus. I can truly with all of my heart lift up my hands and give praise to Him. I know what it's like now to lift up my voice in song and praise, thanking Him for what He has done in my life. He is such an awesome God.

I have been serving the Lord for almost 25 years and although there have been many trials, the Lord has always been so faithful. The love and satisfaction that I was looking for in my career and relationships was found only in my knowing Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I had no idea that I could have such a close, personal relationship with Jesus. He is the only One who can satisfy our soul. I love Him so much. In that time I met my wife and have been married for almost 19 years and have 2 beautiful children. My 18 year old daughter wants to perform on Broadway.....she is awesome and sings like an angel. I have no doubt that if God allows it, she will be very successful on Broadway. I trust the Lord with her as well as my 15 year old son who plays Basketball like Steve Nash.................love you buddy. I am so very proud to have you as my son. You are so talented and handsome (smile).......God has wonderful things planned for you and your sister.

To my wife: I have never, ever known this kind of love....being in love with you sweetheart. The Lord birthed in me such a love for you in my heart. You are beautiful inside and out. I love you more than words can say.

God has been so good and I will forever praise Him for His grace and His mercy in my life.

God bless you,

Greg

Ok......first, the evening with my daughter at the Broadway Musical, "In the Heights" was incredible!! We had front row seats right smack in the center. My knees were touching the stage. For me, the ideal seats would have been about 5 rows back but for my 16 year old daughter, the front row seats we had, well, it was like she died and went to heaven. We felt as if we were on the stage with the actors and it was an evening with my daughter we both will never forget. She knows all the songs perfectly and sings them better than the actors.....yes, she's that good. I love you my sweet girl and I am proud of you and proud to be your dad.
