Motion in Colour began his solo career in spring 2008. Writing his first 12 songs in just a month, he found himself with brand new shoe tapping material to play at his first few small local shows. This was certainly a starting block for him. Picking up some recording sessions with good friend Jamie McKivett, he was able to produce a 9 song EP which he distributed at all his gigs.

Spring left and summer came with the idea for a small South of UK Tour. He got himself booked up in Birmingham, Bristol, London, Yeovil and finally his hometown in Oxfordshire. At the end of his tour, he stumbled across a small independant festival called Offset in Essex. Getting moved up from the introducing stage, to Colins Stage, he played with the likes of Encyclopedia, Tom McCrae, House of Brothers and Trademark. However, there were many artists playing on other stages over the weekend. Some of the names he was able to meet and speak to were, Fightstar, We Are The Ocean, The Xcerts, Tonight is Goodbye, Gang of Four, Blood Red Shoes, and WIRE. This was a cool and amazing experience for such a young and new artist.

Moving through to August and with the summer almost over, he was given the opportunity to play at 'The 02 Academy Oxford', supporting 'The Ryes'. This was a great opportunity and an exciting experience, as we all know 'The O2 Academy' are host to many different artists and bands from all over the World. The week after, The O2 Academy hooked him up with a gig a long way from home in 'The Isle of Man' supporting 'The Charlatans'. Playing to over 350 people at The Villa Marina Royal Hall was a big achievement. Of Course, the buzz of being able to speak to and meet the Charlatans backstage was an opportunity not to be missed.

Along the way, it became apparent that his song 'Airplanes' (mixed and produced by a local artist Mike Finley & Recorded by Jamie McKivett) was becoming extremely popular among new and existing fans. This was aired on BBC Radio Oxford's Introducing Show in September. This was another milestone in the book of achievements for Motion in Colour.

Starting the new Academic term. Motion in Colour is now getting his A Levels in order at Henley College. Since studying hard at Henley, he has found himself a group of talented musicians and have formed a band. Together they played at 'The O2 Academy' for their first gig supporting successful local band 'A Silent Film', who supported One Republic towards the end of their UK Tour this year.

Motion in Colour has been a success from the start of his solo career and will hopefully be an even bigger success now that he has a group of musicians backing him on stage.
