Problem with 6.9 for drag racing is incredibly tall 2.65 to 1 final drive ratio as it was designed for high speed cruising, and t only had three gears. With a lower ratio and a modern gear box, it would be way quicker on acceleration.

It'll do up to 65mph in 1st, which shows how tall the gearing...
