Equality of opportunity at birth would mean that each child could compete fairly in the market (if under libertarianism) and only later would their immutable traits become a factor in their position in life.

So if two children are born this second, they would both have an equal chance to compete with each other to see if one or the other would excel in whatever field they are in. If it's sports, then society would allow everyone to at least enter the running to joint he sports team!

Equality of opportunity does not mean equalising wealth, or equalising people despite individual differences. But it means giving a talented child who could be a musical prodigy the chance to do so in society regardless of who its parents are and what part of society they live in.

Libertarians claims this is what the world would be like without govt restrictions except that would mean ending inheritance of wealth and social standing.

I have a dream that Daniel Hannan or some other younger person is the next Ron Paul, but it may be that Paul is just some kind of once in a lifetime moral freak.

I'd never heard of Lonegan. Checked him out & saw that he was anti-illegal alien & is now derided for hiring a couple illegal aliens. I know though that if someone had just discovered Dr. Paul that they would immediately run into a pack of lies & distortions about him. The whole process makes me sick.
