For the reader who is less familiar with China, the name Mooncake might occur as a bit bizarre. Mooncakes are Chinese pastries traditionally eaten during one of Chinas most important festivals: Mid-Autumn Festival. The cakes are regarded as indispensible delicacy shared with friends and family, while worshiping and moon watching. Mooncakes indirectly symbolises the sharing and uniting of friends and family, whom in China are often separated and miles a part due to work obligations. The goal of Mooncake Productions is simple:To capture everyday life. Maria has travelled the world and her fascination for the Asian continent, especially China, has created her desire to share her experiences and adventures with the world as a documentary filmmaker. Maria has lived several years in Shanghai and Nanjing. Moreover she holds a diploma from The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute New York City in Performing Arts and a Bachelor in Mandarin Chinese and International business from the European business School London and Nanjing University, China.
