A quick little story of how Moomba Blasta! came to be. It all started with me reading a post on the Mad Decent blog at the end of May about this new genre called Moombahton, and the Blow Your Head Volume 2 by Dave Nada compilation. It grabbed my attention but it didn't grab me the balls..... yet. So I forgot about it for a few days......fast forward a week, to June 4th, a Saturday, my younger brother and I drove down to Baltimore for Starscape. It was very exciting we got there a little late, right after 6pm just missing Alvin Risk, which at the time I had no idea who he was, but we went over to the dance tent with no idea what we were about to experience. Tittsworth was on stage and drops Pendejas right when we got up there screaming "ARE YOU GUYS READY FOR SOME MOTHERFUCKING MOOMBAHTON?!" and the whole crowd cheers and yells "FUCK YEAHHHH!!!!" He drops PENDEJAS and the whole place went nuts, let me tell you that was the perfect start to the night and thats when it clicked! I knew I had to be a part of this new movement and spread the love. I then lost my god damn mind when he played VIBRATE, still gives me chills and my favorite to this day. Skrillex also played some moombahton later that evening and it seemed like it was calling me all day, all night. A day later I came up with Moomba Blasta! and started to share my new passion, first with my close friends and soon to be thousands of people who fell in love just like I did.
