Monte Carlo, Born on Feb. 4th 1985, as Carlo Johnson, he was the youngest of 5 children. His parents Lewis & Lavern Johnson lost 2 of their kids, leaving him, his oldest brother Arvon & his other older brother Shawn Johnson (AKA Shawn Jay from Field Mob). Growing up in Albany, Ga in a middle class neighborhood, unfortunately Carlo's household faced poverty. This is what might've been the start of it all. As a kid Carlo was made aware of something most kids aren't aware of until they are teenagers or even young adults,The Real World. His knowledge of things such as poverty, bills & last but not least debt, was what kept the, at the time, 7 yr. old child dedicated to improving his family's circumstances. It wasn't until 1997 when the 12 yr old heard Outkasts ATLiens album, that he decided to pursue his newfound dream to be a worldwide recording artist. Carlo was always the outsider or outcast growing up which is why Outkasts music connected with him so much. Now at 25 yrs old, Carlo has 8 songs playing on Real 92.7's radio station in Albany, Ga. 3 singles, 4 songs hes featured on and 1 under his group with his brother ArVon "The Band Of Losers". He also has 2 other groups, 1 with longtime friends "Tony B." & "Anthony Brown" called "The Out Crowd & another group with friend/prod. "David Luke" called "Aquari'us"...projects from both groups are expected to be released early 2011!! Carlo's current singles are Switch Lanes ft. Bentley, M.O.B. (produced by Progress) & Best Dressed ft. Break which are all from his debut mixtape "The Appetizers" which is a prelude to his "Food 4 Thought" mixtape series. In the beginning Carlo wanted a record deal, as times changed and Carlo witnessed the industrys cons hes now seeking an independent deal being that hes already independent in all that he does. He does his own artwork, recording, mixing, books his own shows and he promote & distributes his own music, he even designed this website that you're on now! In todays industry where real artist of substance are scarce and labels are looking for the next commercial hit, unfortunately at the hip-hop's expense. Monte Carlo is 1 of the very few artist that refuses to compromise the quality of his music for a higher quantity in sells. With a combination of styles as well as an evolved lyricism and intricate subject matter Monte Carlo's music possesses the sound of a promising, brighter future for the hip-hop culture if given the fair chance it deserves. With a fanbase of backpackers, hip-hop heads, young men & women, older men & women, music lovers as well as urban underground listeners. Monte Carlo's debut album Da Lemonade Stand may change the game by taking it back to what it was all about in the beginning, meanwhile displaying hip-hop in a new, refreshing way that could only be known as The Future Of Hip-Hop. How can Monte Carlo be summed up in 1 sentence?
