"Wherever the bishop appears, let the people be there, just as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church." - Saint Ignatius of Antioch, 107AD
"He who created us without our help will not save us without our consent." - Saint Agustine of Hippo
"Then they are brought by us where there is Water, and are regenerated in the same way that we were regenerated. For, in the name of God, the Father and Lord of the Universe and of our Savior Jesus Christ, and of the Holy Spirit, they then recieve the washing with Water. For Christ also said 'Unless you be born again, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven'" - Saint Justin Martyr
"Of the beliefs and practices that are preserved in the Church, whether generally accepted or publicly enjoined, some we possess from written teaching; others we received 'in a mystery' by the Tradition of the Apostles; and both of these have the same force in relation to true religion." - Saint Basil of Caesarea
"We have been instructed in these matters and filled with an unshakable faith, that that which seems to be bread, is not bread, though it tastes like it, but the Body of Christ, and that which seems to be wine, is not wine, though it too tastes as such, but the Blood of Christ...draw inner strength by recieving this bread as spiritual food and your soul will rejoice." - Saint Cyril of Jerusalem
"But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong" - Saint Paul the Apostle
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls" - Our Lord Jesus Christ
Nicene Creed:
We believe in One God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.
Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.
And We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.
And We believe in One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Chalcedonian Creed:
Therefore, following the holy fathers, we all with one accord teach men to acknowledge one and the same Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, at once complete in Godhead and complete in manhood, truly God and truly man, consisting also of a reasonable soul and body; of one substance with the Father as regards his Godhead, and at the same time of one substance with us as regards his manhood; like us in all respects, apart from sin; as regards his Godhead, begotten of the Father before the ages, but yet as regards his manhood begotten, for us men and for our salvation, of Mary the Virgin, the God-bearer; one and the same Christ, Son, Lord, Only-begotten, recognized in two natures, without confusion, without change, without division, without separation; the distinction of natures being in no way annulled by the union, but rather the characteristics of each nature being preserved and coming together to form one person and subsistence, not as parted or separated into two persons, but one and the same Son and Only-begotten God the Word, Lord Jesus Christ; even as the prophets from earliest times spoke of him, and our Lord Jesus Christ himself taught us, and the creed of the fathers has handed down to us.
"There are not over a 100 people in the U.S. that hate the Catholic Church, there are millions however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church, which is, of course, quite a different thing." ~ Archbishop Fulton Sheen
