i was raised COGIC and the secret of COGIC praise is that singing "Yes" actually starts things right back up LOL. Some try to shut a praise break down with it but it never works. The real worshippers come out the pews when you start up the "Yes Lord" chorus.

They don't make em' like this anymore. I don't care about the show. Where's the anointing?? That, Walter Hawkins had. I wish our artist of today would realize that there's a missing element in Gospel music today. That is the anointing. Not vocal/music runs and flashy flesh.

I had two wishes and one was to meet Bishop Hawkins but never got to. I also wanted to meet Andrae Crouch. These men were touched by God to usher in a sound from heaven. Something we lack today in Gospel. Our legends are dying off. What will be left of Gospel?

This man has a voice like no other. I'm still so sad that he's no longer with us.

Lord Tramaine!! For me, when I hear her sing I can't help but feel that Walter Hawkins inspiration. Something about those Love Alive songs. I don't care what anybody says or thinks about Walter Hawkins. Tramaine has an anointed voice that God has preserved. She still has that fire!!

Lord give us time is a song I wish that I could sing today. It's a simple prayer but powerful. When a voice like Walter Hawkins goes before you, you've got to be brave to try to cover one of his signature songs. I know my limitations and even lowering the key just takes away.
