Most of the fan fiction I've seen has Lucius being 'saved' from his evil by the love of a very special young girl/woman - making him want to renounce evil...
...during the process of this change - he would pass thru a stage of fully realizing the (metaphorically speaking) monster inside him, worrying that it's too deep a part of him - that it won't ever be truly 'gone', that he won't ever be really 'safe' for the girl to be with no matter how strong their love is......SSSssssooooo......
.....The song lyrics are perfect as both a 'confession' and an 'warning' that Lucius is expressing to the love of his life. The video images reflect certain memories which would naturally be coming into his mind while he was talking about his 'monster-ish' self. ok, done now :-)
