We Are Your local family-owned & operated [indoor & outdoor] store for hm furnishings; garage organization; appliances [ie grills]; & hardware. David: "75 years ago, my grandfather opened Mitchell Simon Company in Englewood, NJ selling feed and grain. In 1959, my father Philip Simon took over the operation, expanded the store and brought in Ace Hardware. Over the next twenty years, and many more store expansions, he managed to continually bring in products and lines to meet the needs of his customers. Mitchell Simon Company became known as the place to shop for all household needs, including gifts, cookware, hardware, outdoor play sets, patio furniture, fireplaces, and BBQ grills.
In 1985, I joined the family business. At that time, Home Depot was quickly expanding so my father and I created a specialty niche business under one roof. This would strengthen our commitment to customer service and include instant assembly delivery, & installation of our many products. Also, this niche service would incorporate custom design and layout of patio furniture, gas grill islands, plus natural gas and wood-burning fireplaces.
In 2003, we brought on yet another line to service our customers, under garage organization: 'Total Garage Concepts' became the largest Ace Hardware store distributing Gladiator Garage Works. Those products lead me to the manufacturing of garage cabinetry and epoxy floor coatings" -D. Simon.
