@nickwernham Huh? Why would it be stupid? This lens has a close focus (referred to as MOD for Minimum Object Distance) of just 18 inches. I would never buy a lens with an MOD of 18', in fact I've never heard of such a thing even in extreme telephoto zooms. I trust you're not thinking of depth...
