@BettyRublee No, he wasn't, although I'm sure he would've done a great job. None of the poker playing writers writes under the pseudonym "Richard Castle." The person who does has had a part as an extra on the show, per Nathan Fillion, but not a guest starring role the way Stephen Cannell did.
