Thanks for the comment, and sure, I could really help you.
1. First of all, get close enough to the person as close as you can without fading the Sim. Then when you want to get closer, press Z to zoom in and X to zoom out. But make sure you click tab to do all that filming stuff.
2. Click tab in your game and then click Q or press it down. Q means down, so it'll go down. Make sure not to go too low though. To get out of Tab, just click Tab again. It's on your keyboard.
3.And I'll give you more tips. You should look up my video tutorial video, for beginners, it'll really help you out. :) If you need more tips, I'll send them in the morning, I'm going to bed now.

OMG! I last spoke to you a month ago?!? that's terrible!!
and yes, there's a way to fix the fading issue. :) Well, just film your sim as close as you can without fading, and then when you want to get closer without fading zoom in by clicking Z and zoom out by clicking X. :)
But of course you must know the Tab button thing to do it.
