He doesn't really look emo. More like a very very sloppy goth. Emos wear tight clothes and more colorful makeup.

I used to play with a wolfdog named Willow when I was little.(I was a unusual child, I would NOT normally recommend them around children) He was actually very gentle. This show is a little too over dramatic, rather than making wolfdog owners look abusive or crazy. They could explain what wolfdogs...
