About this user

Born and bred in Tauranga Moana, Porina studied music in Levin with Fraser Tahau, and then in Hamilton with Liam Ryan and Rik Bernards. Throughout the years she performed covers alongside members from Herbs, Ardijah, Deep Obsession, Jamoa Jam, and artists such as Taisha, Ria Hall and Leon Wharekura. A recent change of direction led her heavily towards original music, working closely and recording with the Dub/Reggae outfit, Reality Chant, Regan Perry, and Vodafone NZ Music Awards nominee, Jon Michaelz. Thanks to Reality Chant, they included Porina's song titled 'Live Life' on their latest album release 'Kings Highway', and also hooked her up to feature on the newly released Black Seeds 'Specials' digital album with her song 'Little Sunshine'. Personal ventures include Tauranga's favourite band, 'Left Hand Break' who are about to explode onto the NZ Music scene with their originals, and of course she is working intensively on her own music.
