I like the double meaning of "lay down your arms & surrender to me" and yes this is an old Beatle song. In fact, I'm not 100% sure, but I think John Lennon wrote it when he was with his Quarrymen.

Besides being in my opinion, a very underrated band, their music was fantastic and so was this song especially. So sad about the band members, their legacy will live on in my heart. I even went all the way to Swansea to check out their beginnings. Miss them much.
