Then stop lying about languages being "impractical or inefficient". Simply beacuse Irish does not serve a useful purpose in your life does not mean that is the case for other people. Stop foisting your own sour attitudes towards the language on others.

Colm O'Baoill an academic originally from Ireland but working in Scotland has described Gaeilge and Gaidhlig as forming a north/south linguisitc continuum. Most of the meddling on both sides seems to come largely from their Anglo "betters".
