I really cannot have a right relationship with somebody else until the baggage I carry is taken care of. The amazing thing about my relationship with my husband is that he stood by me as I sort out the baggage. The baggage of verbal, physical and sexual abuse. The death of of a child, the broken heart from a high school relationship...

For my husband to get to me, he had to try and unpack my baggage and that is hard work for anyone. That was my inspiration to work on myself. I was not going to let myself and other people be affected by my past.
