When a child has a health care need, a children's hospital is the best choice.

Miller Children's Hospital Long Beach provides specialized care to treat children with conditions ranging from common to complex, including cancer, heart defects, asthma and diabetes. The hospital admits more than 8,000 children each year and welcomes 6,000 babies into the world through its MemorialCare Center for Women. The comprehensive outpatient specialty center features 20 California Children Services (CCS) approved special care centers. These centers provide individual care for cardiology, hematology/oncology (cancer), rehabilitation, diabetes, asthma, autism, neonatal intensive care and high risk infants.

Miller Children's is home to one of the largest Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) in California. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides care to toddlers, children and teenagers who become critically ill or injured and may require constant monitoring. Child Life Specialists are available to every patient, to help them adjust to their hospital stay and maintain their daily, normal childhood activities.

Through its collaboration with Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, Miller Children's is home to the areas only county-designated Pediatric Emergency Department and Trauma Center.
