In an effort to be consistent with all of my online media, I have launched a new YouTube channel. All of the videos are the same. It's just a fresher, cleaner and more organized site that will reflect the look of my new Congressional website. It also has a new URL to match my Facebook and Twitter pages: http://www.youtube.com/repm...

So, I hope you will join me on my new YouTube channel as I will be deleting this channel in a few weeks.

New YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/repm...

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please let me know! It is an honor to represent the people who call Arkansas's Fourth Congressional District home and I hope this new channel continues to update you on the issues before the U.S. Congress.

Never fear, in the end we will all end up with the same gov insurance which only the rich will have to pay for all of us. Eventuall, Congress will pass and Mike Ross will vote for some bogus plan, 'stealth Public Option" , And when there aren't enough rich, we'll simply print more dollars. (we'll have to, China is about to stop buying our debt) Hey, no prob. China will own us a little sooner, that's all. Companies will flee this country in swarms when gov mandates health and fees and penalties. Can't afford health care? Wait till you don't have a job. Soon, if you have a job, you WILL be rich.

He explicitly defends discrimination against older patients: "Unlike allocation by sex or race, allocation by age is not invidious discrimination; every person lives through different life stages rather than being a single age. Even if 25-year-olds receive priority over 65-year-olds, everyone who is 65 years now was previously 25 years" (Lancet, Jan. 31).

Emanuel, however, believes that "communitarianism" should guide decisions on who gets care. He says medical care should be reserved for the non-disabled, not given to those "who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens . . . An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia" (Hastings Center Report, Nov.-Dec. '96).

Savings, [Dr. Emanuel] writes, will require changing how doctors think about their patients: Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath too seriously, "as an imperative to do everything for the patient regardless of the cost or effects on others" (Journal of the American Medical Association, June 18, 2008).

Great conservative rhetoric, Mike!
Poor follow-through.
The 4th district was very disappointed to hear of your decision to fold to pressure and tow the party line regarding Obamacare. For about 5 minutes, I thought you were being genuine, but now I know it was for appearances. I look forward to a day when our elected representatives will speak their heart and mind and vote accordingly. It really gets tiring listening to people like Obama and yourself who speak one way and vote another.

For those that are insured (or think that they will still be insured if they have suddenly need for costly medical treatment - many find that they are suddenly dumped by insurance companies when this occurs), it may not be an issue about how quickly this happens. For those of us that are uninsured, this needed to happen yesterday.
I understand your concern to do this right, but make sure to keep up the pace.
Insurance companies are abusing their customers. Doctors don't accept insurance, while working at hospitals that say a patient's insurance is acceptable. These things are flatly wrong.
We need your help to stop this as soon as possible.
Thanks for helping us.

Why is it that every bill is too important and urgent to take the time to read? We have learned that it doesn't work. Please hold out for a little common sense on healthcare. Don't sell out, be bold and demand transparency and responsibility. Sooner or later we will be out of equity to pay for all these programs and everyone loses.
