Hi, my name is Michael Garner and I would like to share my story. In 1993 I was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease. My first back surgery was in the same year, the second one in 1994. In 1995 I was diagnosed with a type of bone cancer and they had to replace my left hip. I was only 32 years old when this journey started, and I trusted my doctors to know what's best for me. They put me on pain medicine and have prescribed various types of prescription drugs to me ever since. My life was miserable. I was in pain all the time and needed more and more prescription drugs. When you are in pain, you're on the edge all the time. There was no career, no success, no reason to celebrate my life.
