About Me:

I'm a regular contributor in terms of writing essays and articles on The Bruce Lee Fan Club UK (www.brucelee.org.uk).

The purpose of that contribution or endeavor is to keep a good role model and motivational person like Bruce Lee alive in our minds and hearts..I've had the pleasure of having a famous martial arts movie screenwriter, Bey Logan, communicate with me via e-mail on a number of subjects, for example the status of current martial arts movies and how they can be improved..

Also, it was an immense treat and compliment to recently have Andy Kimura, son of Taky Kimura (Bruce Lee's best friend) invite me as a "friend" on "Facebook." I can't write on his facebook wall, but neither can anyone else. :) LoL

Andy keeps the true JKD alive among other influential people who were close friends & students of Bruce Lee..My other role model is Jimi Hendrix--I have severall things in common with Jimi.

My uncle was a hippie in the 1960's...and a big Rolling Stones fan--I definitely love all classic rock music and blues. I read a lot--both fiction and non-fiction and like to think of myself as the anchor that's firm, yet flexible, and tries to maintain a strong attention span and create meaningful art through meaningful, thought-provoking words. I like Philosophy, especially Chinese Philosophy and Taoism and Buddhism. I also like to read motivational books.

I'm part Irish & was born in the U.S., and have lived here in the states all my life.I also like olde Irish tunes and bands like Tommy Makem and The Clancy
Brothers. My favorite old Irish song is not "Danny Boy", but "The Mountain Dew." I love to spread rock music's popularity, especially among the younger generation which sadly listens mostly to dance music & rap music. I ESPECIALLY LOVE SURF ROCK AND HOT ROD MUSIC! BUT ANYTHING WHOLESOME LIKE THE BYRDS OR BILL HALEY & THE COMETS & BUDDY HOLLY ARE AWESOME TOO!

There's lots of dew here in the mornin' where I currently live in San Diego. "If I die tomorrow, I will have no regrets, I did what I wanted to do." (this is one of Bruce Lee's famous quotes).

What have I done which is what I wanted to do? Well it's been having done what I'm good at, what comes naturally to me--writing. I've finished writing my novel in late 2009. I've also written some poems, and humkbly speaking, I've basicallly tried to improve the world through my writing and with my philosophical, emphathetic mind, body, and soul. Peace....
Hometown:
All of California is my hometown--the best state in the Union!
Country:
United States
Occupation:
I'm a Philosopher, Writer, Motivational Writer. I've worked 6 years as a legal assistant a/k/a paralegal handling all aspects of real estate law and practice from closings to foreclosures, to evictions. I have a high grade point average a 3.63, but the unfair Law School Admission Test is too mathematical (I'm a word person like John Lennon) and so it's too bad law schools look at a half-day test score as the predominant factor in making acceptance decisions.
Companies:
I've worked at tiny law firms where the boss can be an A-hole, since the boss is so stressed about accounts recievable and accts payable I've worked at mid-size law firms, and 2 mega large international law firms: Willkie Farr and Gallagher and Skadden Arps.
Schools:
Queens College; graduated 1996 w/ B.A. in Political Science & Gov't.Queens College Continuing Education Program, graduated in 1996 with an American Bar Association-approved Paralegal Certificate. If I don't become a lawyer, then no sweat! Lawyers can be a little TOO PRECISE and a bit TOO UPTIGHT.Peace! Best wishes to all in your worthwhile endeavors and goals.--Mike Bruce Sullivan
Interests:
Reading biographies, watching documentaries. Hearing good live, rock music. I've been to the world-renowned CBGB's rock band in NY before it closed down. I sometimes enjoy The Special Features or Audio Commentary section of DVD movies.
Movies:
All Four Bruce Lee movies; "Born to Fight" with Panna Rittikrai;
Music:
Classic rock music.
Books:
All of them except some Dean Koontz books, I mean I'm not much of a dog lover like he is.

It's good to be pure and wholesome. Not religious, but just deep down a nice person who has good feelings. I don't even use curse words. My mouth is clean from cuss words. I'm not perfect, but at least I know where the path to Goodness is and what Goodness is.

DUDES & DUDETTES, THE WORLD BECAME A MUCH BETTER PLACE, WHEN DICK DALE LEFT BOSTON FOR SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA & LEARNED HOW TO PLAY THE GUITAR!
MikeBruceSullivan (5 months ago)
Hey Venus...Hey, Venus??? Make my wish come true...This song is hauntingly pure & innocent-theraupeutic in this modern age. Very heavenly background chorus. Southern Californian legend of Italian American background, Frankie Avalon, hung out with surf rock guitar king, Dick Dale during the hey day of SoCal beach party fun & surfing of the early 1960s. It was a great time: no A.I.D.S., no fast, lustful dance music, & no violent rap music working on the subconscious of our youth. I play this song in my Camaro in San Diego--people don't laugh at me--I have the strength to play this civil & wholesome music & spread it's popularity.

I assure you cannabis had nothing to do with Bruce's death, his brain swelled up yet no blood vessels were broken. This was caused supposedly by an allergic reaction to the pain med he was given right before he died. But he was forgetting things and repeating himself days before this, so the pain med couldn't of been the direct cause. There has been no cause of death linked to cannabis, and Bruce Lee with his superb physique wasn't an exception. I respect your concern nonetheless.

I only smoke cannabis once every few months or so. When I smoke it, I feel creatively pumped and ready to work on new videos and other projects. I only take a hit or two when I do smoke. I have abused it in the past which did have a negative effect on me. But if taken in moderation, it can be a positive tool for insight and creativity. It's effect on each person may differ, and not all long term experiences with it are the same. There are numerous successful and active people who swear by the positive effects of cannabis including Carl Sagan, George Carlin, and Joe Rogan to name a small few. Surely none of them became lazy & unproductive due to cannabis. Here is a quote from Carl Sagan on the subject, "The illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world."
