MICROLIP...THE BAND ON EVERYONE'S LIPS!"Only now and then does a band come along with something special to offer. When MICROLIP supported us I could see that rare fire in them for their music and live show. Ill be following their progress and know it will be great" - Mark Sheehan of The Script
"I knew from the first time I heard the promo CD that MICROLIP had something very different about them from other bands. When they joined me in the studio and performed an acoustic version of 'Man of Steel' live on the radio the feedback was immense. They have set a high standard for others to follow and I'm really looking forward to hearing the album. I'm totally behind MICROLIP and all of us at Cool FM have no doubt they will be the next big thing from NI and wish them all the success they deserve in the future" - GARETH STEWART - COOL FM DRIVETIME PRESENTER
" Excellent! That's a hit!" - Gerry Anderson BBC Radio Ulster
"Microlip's Man of Steel is a really big pop/rock song with a chorus that defies gravity and production twists that make it stand out from hundreds of other bands. The little electro inserts among the wall of guitars adds a certain charisma to the song....Microlip might just be riding very high in 2011" - John Kearns MTV, Music Scene, Citybeat Radio
MICROLIP was formed in 2008 when after a chance encounter Portadown musicians Jaime McDonald, Jamesy Wilson, John Mulholland and Mick Carvill decided to abandon their personal projects and collaborate their musical talents into one almighty force... MICROLIP.
Since then the MICROLIP lads have been doing what they do best -- writing songs and gigging. Influenced by an eclectic mix of 80's 90's AND NOUGHTIES Pop and Rock, MICROLIP have developed their unique sound.
Within 12 months of formation MICROLIP were playing Northern Ireland's top music venues and sharing stages with bands such as Cashier No9, Panama Kings and General Fiasco. But, it was in 2009 they got their big break -- playing support to chart toppers The Script.
Lead singer, Jaime McDonald said, "The last time we played Spring and Airbrake we supported The Script. This time we will be headlining the night so we really hope all our fans will come and support us!"
The highlight of their musical achievements, The Script gig gave impetus to a new and exciting time for MICROLIP
This year keyboard player Neil Guy joined the MICROLIP line up and for the last six months the boys have been working on one of the most anticipated albums to come out of Ireland.
As a thank you to their growing fan base MICROLIP released their debut single Man of Steel as a free MP3 download for one week. In just seven days Man of Steel shot to Number 1 in the N.I download chart (nicharts.com)
Man of Steel was used (Sat13th Nov) by BBC Sports for their coverage of the rugby international between Ireland and Samoa. It was also played to thousands of sports fans in the new Aviva stadium in Dublin before the rugby internationals in November.
'Man of Steel' is available to download from i-tunes and other outlets while MICROLIP's new single, 'Dance Beneath the Feet' has just been released for download.
