The Michigan Golden Gloves is a 501 (c)(3) youth sport organization offering personal training to young boxers and assistance to other gyms and training facilities throughout Michigan. But there's more to it. The "mission statement" for the Golden Gloves of Michigan is simple: "Building Character in Youth to go the Distance". Every coach and mentor knows that they have a young person's future in their hands. School work cannot be ignored, and personal behavior outside the gym is stringently monitored. Each young person knows they represent an organization with a proud tradition of helping kids. In turn, they strive to be good examples to the community. They are taught that hard work and education can lead to incredible accomplishments.
