Acoustic Guitarist, Maryland Music, Instrumental Guitarist, Recording Studio, Guitar and Drum Lessons.
About Me:

Mike's father owned a music store in Upstate New York when he was a young boy. This gave him an early opportunity to be around talented performing and studio musicians all of his life. Mike began taking drum lessons when he was seven and guitar lessons when he was eight. Many guitars and drum sets later, Mike began playing both instruments professionally when he was 13. He received his first union card and hit the club scene playing everything from country, blues, folk, rock, to pop music.

Mike performed in his middle school jazz band as well as orchestral and marching bands. He continued playing in these organizations through high school and had the opportunity to perform with world renowned jazz bassist Slam Stewart. Michael was also chosen to perform in the 1975 Macy's Day parade, and his drum section won numerous awards during competitions along the East coast. When he was 17, Mike met Country's Ernest Tubb, and Flamenco Jazz Guitarists Jose Feliciano and Charlie Byrd.

During the 70's Mike continued to perform five to six times a week in cover and original bands. He appeared on live radio shows and his band "Tucson" was featured in the newspaper as "The band to experience." During the early 80's he continued performing with various band genres such as country, blues, pop, folk, jazz, rock, funk/disco, and original. During the 90's Michael wanted to start up a professional recording studio and provide his audio engineering skills to his fellow musicians. After extensive research and skill development he started providing analog recording services in 1992. He recently opened his all digital recording studio in 2001 in the Annapolis, MD area. One of his clients is The Baltimore Songwriter's Association where he volunteers his time to create and master compilation CD's for regional songwriters. In 2008 Mike now owns his own new production recording studio where he offers his recording, producing, engineering, and mixing services to multi-state clients from CA, FL, to NY and beyond.

Mike was asked to become a board member of the Baltimore Songwriter's Association. He is also a member of The Nashville Songwriters Association International, and The Songwriter's Association of Washington. He also had the opportunity to meet with EMI Publishing on Music Row this year in Nashville.

Mike composes folk, country, blues, jazz, rock, and pop music in his recording studio named The Note Factory. He often is requested to compose guitar, drum, bass and keyboard parts, singing, songwriting, and recording techniques, as well as pedal steel guitar, and even steel drums. He is a multi-talented musician with very sharp audio engineering and production skills.

During the 90's through present day, Michael provides guitar, bass and drum lessons as well. He has 22 music students. Michael has been performing in Rock, Country, Pop, and Jazz bands since the age of 12. This last six years he has written and produced seven of his own CD's in genres that span the musical spectrum.

One project was to write an acoustic guitar instrumental sound-scape for a wonderful project produced by North Eastern, Diane Kovanda of Café`Pague Productions. This project was a "dream come true" for Michael. The film is a stunning video on the natural beauty and architecture of Cape Cod. Michael's music was inspired by the spectacular images captured by Diane's artful eyes and intriguing imagination.

In 2001, he received a finalist position in the KAM Songwriting Contest for his Country song entitled "Stoppin' For Your Love". Mike was also just recently notified by the John Lennon Songwriting Contest that he earned an Honorable Mention position for his Blues tune entitled "My Quarter's Up". He also earned the same Honorable Mention position for his Rock/Jazz Ballad named "Because of You".

Michael has recently been signed by At Peace Media Corporation. This company distributes healing music digitally to yoga centers, massage therapy clinics, doctor's offices, etc. They also sell Mike's instrumental CD online internationally, and they just recently started a new business line where they sell music to various phone services for "on-hold" music.

Mr. Zampi has also been asked by a Nashville record label to create a "health and healing" CD for distribution. The offer is pending.

Mike has devoted and developed himself over the years to be a fine musician that is well respected, dedicated to excellence and giving to other musicians for a chance to grow. His personal goal is to continue composing, producing and engineering as well as supporting his fellow musicians.
