I love it. I always felt that Hong Kong was magical in the '50s. And lke so many others, Michael Rogge seems to have walked a primrose path. Now, of course, it is full of nostalgia. I do hope the magic of Hong Kong has not been stifled, as so much of the Far East has been, by pollution and global warming. Thanks a heap for these wonderful photographs....

Michael, thank you so much for uploading your films on HK and Macau. A very rare chance for me to have a glance at what was before me. HK and Macau have changed so much since your last visit and sometimes it's hard to say if it's good or not. Anyway, thanks again and hope the new year will bring you good health, peace and joy!

Thanks for your observations. Well, I never noticed that I as a gajin attracted attention going around in the fifties. But then Japanese are masters in concealing their responses.

Love your video clips. It is interesting to see changes in people/places over time. I spent a fair bit of time in japan in mid eighties and progessively over the years. I become facinated by the changing mores of society, even in japan. When I first went to japan, you would never see gaijin holding hands in the street with a japanese girl, however it is now much more accepted and commonplace. Where once a foreigner would attract attention on trains, now there is not so much as a second glance. The world changes and u have recorded history when not done so thank you. I like your channel. Keep in good health please.
