This was the first time I listened to this Concerto-the Spada SWR recording.I had it on reel tape long time ago and I remember it as the best recording.Thanks a lot for uploading my memories of Radio-days long went by.

Just listen to Fjodor Luzanov's Cello Solo at the end, it is marvellous and worth listening the whole Concerto.Great Cellist! Kudos!

And it is unbelievable FAST. I think, they tried to get each movement onto ONE Side of the LP. I understand that there are two different channels on one side? That would make sense, they needed double the space.

This is great, it shows what a great Pianaist de Groot was.

This works are difficult, very difficult, not technically but but in terms of understanding,right timing and voicing.

de Groot is marvellous in this and this is one of the very best performances I know of this works by Mompou.

Yes, you are right, there is no new recording.The del Pueyo was avalaible on CD. Very good Concerto, it deserves a new recording.

Yes, there exists a Hoffmann-recording I had on tape cassette in the 80thies.Conductor was Jan Krenz I am sure and I think it should be a WDR-Production. But I am not shure which Orchestra was involved. All I remember is that I was a little bit dissapointed because the last movement was played to...

Great recording, the best performance of this very good concerto.I bought the LP back in 1979 and also own a CD-reissue which was made on an obscure british label.

Das darf ja wohl nicht war sein, daß das Band hin ist. Hoffmann war berühmt für seine Interpretation dieses Konzertes und diese Aufnahme war ein wichtiges Dokument. Ich bin mit dieser Aufnahme aufgewachsen und finde es ziemlich besch......, daß ich jetzt nie wieder dran ran kommen kann......Mist.

Ich habe eine andere Aufnahme mit Julius Bassler vom NDR Hannover.

Ich weiß überhaupt nichts über diesen Pianisten. Das Mackeben-Konzert ist ein sehr schönes Werk, natürlich kein Meisterwerk, aber großes Kino.Ich mag das sehr.

Und Bassler zeigt, daß er ein sehr großer Virtuose ist. Von Pianisten ...

He was not humble.

His Intepretation at the end is not good at all, he misses sul ponticello markings, he misses the tempo and the bowings necesssary for a slower tempo-as marked- and his fingerings are also not good.

And his "trick" in the slow movement is just bad taste. You can get the same effekt if you play i...

Schönes Konzert, wie wäre es als nächstes mit dem Klavierkonzert von Karl Höller? Das ist ein verdammt gutes Werk.
