Maria Linnemann was born in Amsterdam but
grew up in England. She studied conducting,
piano and violin at the Royal Academy of Music in London before discovering the classical guitar.
As a profilic composer for the guitar now living in Germany, she is published by Ricordi Publishers in Munich, Henri Lemoine in Paris,and Verlag H.Burger in Karlsruhe. Her many compositions for the guitar are played all over the world.
Her latest solo guitar volume, 'Soledad' - which includes the popular solo: 'Antonino' - was
published by Ricordi in August 2008
Her Spanish Song Cycle: 'Poemas' for
Mezzo-soprano, guitar and viola was published in 2009 by Ricordi Munich, and is already enjoying international performances. Following publications
with Ricordi Munich will be: 'Scenes from Don Quichote' for guitar trio or ensemble, and a collection of easy solo pieces for the guitar. Watch this space! The suite for two celli (teacher and beginner) iis now available from Ricordi Munich.
