We are a group of practitioners and teachers of T'ai Chi (Taijiquan), Chi Kung (Qigong) and Meditation collectively known as the European School of T'ai Chi Chuan. Many of us also are practitioners of other arts such as Acupunture, Shiatsu, Thai massage,Pulsation massage, Zen calligraphy, Shufa etc.,We have all been inspired by Tew Bunnag who is from Thailand. Whilst predominately practising Tew's yang style of T'ai Chi, being an open group we also have students who practise other styles on their own, or with other teachers but who still wish to turn up year after year to our retreats, often finding something spiritually sustaining in some form which is often neglected elsewhere. They are of course warmly welcomed and appreciated for what they also bring to our grouping. People are welcome from whichever spiritual or non spiritual background they come from. We also tend to practise with a deep connection and respect for the local environment, Earth and Universe i.e not just in isolation, so many of us are involved in one way or another in caring for other sentient beings and the general environment. Whilst a number of us are situated within the British Isles, Isle of Man, Greece, Spain and France, we are also connected to students in Thailand and Nepal. Others within the group are connected to Dhiravamsa in the USA.
About Me:

As a group we work at deepening our connection with our centre (Dantien), thus allowing our hearts to let go and open as our mind settles into the silence, and in doing so our wisdom mind is given the opportunity and space to slowly begin to awaken, thus giving ourselves a firm foundation from which we are able to work through compassion. .To aid us in this work we use meditation, both static (Sitting, standing) and moving, and this we naturally attempt to integrate into our daily lives. We do the Tai Chi to work at letting go of our egos and so transform our lives so we may be of benefit to other sentient beings, the earth and the universe.
Country:
United Kingdom
Occupation:
Practising random kindness and acts of beauty. Also offering classes and retreats in Britain, Greece,Spain, France and occasionaly Thailand. See website for details.
Interests:
Cultivating the Heart, being centred, opening the wisdom mind, laughing and allowing silence to become very much a part of our lives. Also planting trees and caring for the environment and other sentient beings.2012 is the International Year of Co-operatives, this can link in with what Tew has spoken about the importance of community. Some of our videos may well reflect this through the year.Having worked in a co-operative business, and noticed certain short commings, one of the areas I see that would be of real benefit to communities and which is often neglected, is time spent in silence with one another both in the sense of sitting together silently as Quakers, Buddhists and others do or working alongside one another.Silence can often be a great healer, especially when there is estrangement. Within our own Sangha/Community or others we can look at ways in which we can help and support one another.I thought I'd share a quote I recently came across by Robert Owen, who became a major influence on the cooperative movement, in 1841 he wrote "Is it not in the interest of the human race, that everyone should be so taught and placed, that he would find his highest enjoyment to arise from the continued practice of doing all in his power to promote the wellbeing, and happiness, of every man, woman and child, without regard to their class, sect, party, country or colour?"
Books:
A number of booklets, CDs and DVDs by Tew and the group.also t shirts etc., details of which are available through the contact on our website.
