Got into the NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy metal) era and never really grew out of it! Early influences were Van Halen, Motorchead, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, UFO, Scorpians and MSG.
After that I discovered the likes of Malmsteen, Satriani, Vai and Gilbert to name but a few. More recently John Petrucci, Rusty Cooley and Guthrie Govan - all great guitarists. One top favorite at the moment is Andy James - fantastic guitarist.
I really appreciate talented musicians - that have obviously put in a lot of time and effort to develop themselves - and this can cross any genre of music
I am completely self taught and have had no formal guitar training
