If I had to guess I'd say it has to do with his vocal effect, and perhaps also his in-ear monitor which you can see him fiddlign with at the beginning.

It's crazy how little of this stuff you can actually hear on the record. Fortunately the remixes address this issue somewhat.

Oh, it is that song? I listened to the little clip but didn't make the connection. I did notice that the played Radar at the show...twice. His guitar f'ed up the first time. That song was killer.

Not remastered, just edited all to hell. It is almost three minutes shorter than the album version.

I actually like the old single cognac cask. The St. Emilion finish was also incredible. The LCBO has a single sherry cask out now; would really love to try it.

A rare instance where the video matches the song's intensity.

This isn't a live recording, if that's what you mean. The song before it was live, leading into this studio track.

To me, sulphur manifests itself in whisky most often as a burnt rubber taste in the finish. I'm sad to say that I found such a flavour in a recent bottle of cask-strength Springbank. Hard to believe that a respectable distillery would put high-quality spirit into a tainted cask.

Ballantine's Finest is a 3 year old whisky. There may be older whiskies in the blend but it is technically 3 years old since that is the age of the youngest component. It says so on their website.

The Thirteen is quite nice. One of the least smoky blends around but with a nice sherried character.

Thanks. When I first tried Caol Ila 12 year old it reminded me strongly of Dun Bheagan Islay. The original of that malt has been much debated on the Web. Some say it is Ardbeg or Lagavulin even though it tastes nothing like those.

On the contrary, I believe they are required to add Canadian whisky to it. There is a company called Premium Bottlers which brings in Scotch, adds 1% Canadian malt whisky and sells it as vatted malt whisky. Apparently they must add Canadian spirit to meet federal regulations.

I was so happy when they played this song.
