Colour adjectives are often rather vague, and "'asfar" probably functions in more or less the same way as the colour adjectives employed in classical Latin texts.
I have a question about the second example. You rendered "rajul" as "the man" although "rajul" is not preceded by a definite article. Was this an error, or did you deliberately choose use "the" because "rajul" is defined by the asyndetic relative clause (sifa) which follows it?
