MEDIA FOR CONSERVATION was founded on the conviction that media are important tools in conservation. Our aim is to utilize audio/visual and new social media to promote attitudes of respect toward other species, understanding of the value of biodiversity, and informed action to protect nature. Our mission is to educate, motivate, and activate people toward good earth stewardship.
MEDIA FOR CONSERVATION works both independently and in partnership with other conservation organizations. We create complimentary media to facilitate community based campaigns as well as ongoing national and international conservation efforts. Additionally, we utilize social media platforms to provide creative and unifying outlets for online community expression.
We all hold great power in the destiny of the planet. As we witness an unprecedented onslaught of species extinction, habitat destruction, and environmental decay, people everywhere are uniting to find solutions. Media creators have an enormous capacity, and therefore responsibility, to facilitate positive change for the good of the planet. MEDIA FOR CONSERVATION invites you to join us in this effort.

Okay world, let's get on board. Why is only Gabon doing this?
This beautiful sculpture, made by a 15-year-old Zambian child named Malafian, is being auctioned to support the child who made it and the wildlife he loves.
The story of his art is poetic and ironic. For the wire that Malafian used in making his sculptures came from illegal wildlife snares that were confiscated from poachers. Malafian's aim was to transform a malicious weapon into a benevolent piece of art. Malafian himself has hope that in offering his art in this auction, he can help raise awareness about the cruelty of snaring and the problems of poaching in his homeland of Zambia. Malafian intends to make a difference. And we can help him do so.
Transformation is contagious. We all have the capacity to turn cold, cruel, metal into objects of art. Thank you, Malafian, for reminding us of this.
